Oil prices (CL=F, BZ=F) are starting to take a bit of a breather after a big run higher. AlphaSimplex Chief Research Strategist and Portfolio Manager Katy Kaminski spoke with Yahoo Finance Live anchors Diane King Hall and Brad Smith that OPEC nations are trying to limit supply to prop up oil prices, but they are facing headwinds. Kaminski says there are three things to watch right now when it comes to oil prices. “Watch the consumer. Watch the strength of the dollar, because that’s really going to be a headwind if it continues to recover, Kaminski said. Kaminski’s third thing to watch is China and the weaker-than-expected data investors have been seeing.
